Der ursprüngliche “Reisweg” taucht 1827 in einer Forstverkaufs­anzeige auf; als Riesweg ist er seit 4. Februar 1903 amtlich. Er zieht von der Oberstraße in den Stadtwald von Essen-Rellinghausen.
